Nigel Brooks
I am Nigel Brooks, the IT partner for growing businesses, based in Houston, Texas. I run TRUSTNIGEL, and clients who have worked with me tend to just call it Trust Nigel. I build the systems a business runs on, then I run them.
What I actually do
Most technology problems in a growing business are not really technology problems. They are the gap between a system that demos well and a system that holds up on a Tuesday afternoon when everything is running at once. I work in that gap.
That work started on the build side: web applications, marketplaces, payment and booking flows, automation, and the cloud underneath them. It grew into the other half of the job. Businesses that had something built kept asking who was going to run it, patch it, back it up, move the domain, fix why their email stopped landing, and pick up the phone when something broke. So that is what I do now too. Most of my clients run online first: lean teams, heavy systems, and no tolerance for something breaking quietly. One person who understands the whole stack beats four vendors pointing at each other.
Based in Houston, Texas. Working with growing businesses nationwide.
What I build, and what I run
Build
The systems a business actually operates on. Most IT providers cannot do this part, and it is where I started.
- Full-stack web apps
- AI and automation
- Stripe payments and billing
- Pixels, tracking and attribution
- Data and reporting tools
Run
The infrastructure underneath it, kept boring on purpose. Monitored, patched, backed up, and quiet.
- Cloud on AWS, Azure and GCP
- Microsoft 365 and Entra ID
- Domains, DNS and email delivery
- Security and monitoring
- Backups with tested restores
Partner
The part that lasts. One person who knows the whole stack, so nothing falls between vendors.
- Monthly management
- Migrations and cutovers
- Vendor and license management
- Roadmap and planning
- Support when your team needs a person
How engagements work
Clear scope, fixed budget, no long-term contracts on build work. Deployed to production before handoff, not left on a staging server for someone else to finish. Managed service arrangements run on their own terms and are sized to what the business actually needs rather than a package tier.
Every project in the Build Log is either live or confidential. Nothing on this site is hypothetical.
